What are Neurotoxins (Botox®, Dysport, Daxxify)?

A neurotoxin is a substance that affects the nervous system by inhibiting the transmission of nerve signals. In the context of cosmetic treatments, neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify are purified proteins derived from the botulinum toxin. When injected in small, controlled doses, these neurotoxins temporarily relax targeted facial muscles, smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines caused by repetitive facial movements. This results in a more youthful and refreshed appearance, while allowing the surrounding untreated muscles to function normally, preserving natural facial expressions.
